Read through the end to find all the hidden details and Easter eggs from House of The Dragon episodes.
Alicent’s book’s page was returned to Rhaenyra
The first episode of House of the Dragon featured Rhaenyra, Alicent, learning about Princess Nymeria’s history and how she fled Valyrian attackers while leading her people on ships through the Narrow Sea. Rhaenyra took the page and smiled at Alicent.
In episode three, Rhaenyra made a man sing Nymeria fleeing from Dragonriders song after another, which indicated that this story was her favorite. The page was returned to Rhaenyra in the last episode (10), an attempt by Alicent to symbolically remind her of the affection and love they once shared.
Rhaenyra is getting older and more confident about her role as a future queen
Rhaenyra’s hair has become more intricately braided. This is a continuation of a tradition we saw in “Game of Thrones,” where Rhaenyra was crowned as the future queen. Although “House of the Dragon,” a long-running series, was not set before HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Dany’s braids were tied with Dothraki custom, not Targaryen. The prequel series appears to follow in the original show’s footsteps.
As Rhaenyra ages, her hairstyles become more structured and detailed with each episode. As it happened with Dany in “Game of Thrones,” this evolution of Rhaenyra’s braids seems to be keeping up with the victories (both small and large) that she is achieving. Rhaenyra defends her children against the truth about their parents and helps Laenor escape from Essos with her lover Qarl. She also marries her uncle Daemon, a powerful move that will strengthen their family’s defenses.
Committed a murder: Criston Cole was seen standing behind Lord Beesbury
Criston is silently visible over Criston’s shoulder, out of focus, as Lord Beesbury defends King Viserys’ public decision to name Rhaenyra his successor.
This might not feel ominous to people who haven’t yet read “Fire and Blood.” Fans of the books will know that Beesbury was the first to shed blood in the Dance of the Dragons — the fight between the Greens (Team Aegon II) and the Blacks (Team Rhaenyra). Many accounts in “Fire and Blood” of Lord Beesbury’s death, and none involve head-smashing on a table.
The two kings-guard knights’ costumes reveal a subtle distinction between
Episode eight saw Ser Erryk introduced when he reported to Queen Alicent of Aegon about the assault on a serving girl. He is Aegon’s knight-in-arms, and he is his sworn protector. He has had a close-up view of his activities. However, his twin brother has his tunic untucked and beard slightly more unkempt than he does.
Although Ser Arryk is also on the kings-guard, this episode shows that he’s an oath keeper by nature. Arryk doesn’t seem to care about Aegon’s personal appearance – he simply abides by the oath to defend the King. Arryk adheres to his strict code by wearing his tunic tighter and having his facial hair trimmed slightly.
